Algerian Renewable Energy Opportunities

  • Room 258 - Salt Palace Convention Center 100 South West Temple Salt Lake City, UT, 84101 United States (map)

ISI’s Ian Oliver will be moderating a panel session with executives from the Algerian power and gas company, Sonelgaz.

With the highest potential for solar power exploitation in the MENA region, Algeria’s major power and energy utilities are aggressively working towards their 2030 vision of 13.5 GW of solar generating capacity. Sonatrach, the state-owned oil company, is solarizing its facilities to cover up to 80% of needs around the country, which will account for roughly 1.5 GW, while Sonelgaz, the state-owned electricity generation and gas distribution company is driving the overall strategy to achieve the 13.5 GW. There are major opportunities for U.S. companies in this rapidly expanding solar market and Sonatrach and Sonelgaz and one of its subsidiaries, SKTM, will present.
